Sharon Eubanks is a Senior Litigation Counsel in the Washington D.C. office of Sanford Wittels & Heisler, LLP.
Ms. Eubanks represents the interests of individuals in employment discrimination, medical malpractice, and general civil rights matters. Ms. Eubanks currently represents clients bringing an age discrimination case against an international law firm. She also serves as counsel representing eleven African-Americans who were the victims of fraud and predatory-lending when purchasing their first homes in Washington D.C. In addition, Ms. Eubanks represents a client seeking restitution from a hospital which botched her abdominal surgeries, leaving the woman disfigured and in chronic pain.
Prior to joining SWH in October 2009, Ms. Eubanks was Senior Pro Bono Counsel with the D.C. law firm of Holland & Knight. In that capacity, she worked on prison litigation reform issues and civil rights class action litigation. Prior to working at Holland & Knight, Ms. Eubanks worked for over 22 years at the U.S. Department of Justice. While at DOJ, Ms. Eubanks was lead counsel for the United States on the largest civil racketeering case ever filed, leading a team of 35 lawyers in a successful nine-month trial against major cigarette manufacturers.
Through the years, Ms. Eubanks has received recognition for her work with a number of awards. She is a recipient of the U.S. Attorney General’s John Marshall Award for outstanding legal achievement and the recipient of the Juvenile Justice Project of Louisiana Justice for Youth award.
Ms. Eubanks has taught trial advocacy at George Washington University School of Law, is a frequent speaker on topics related to litigation, and has co-authored a Deskbook for Practitioners for the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and recently completed a book on the federal tobacco litigation entitled Continuing Bad Acts.
